Wow. Just Wow. What a story! Sloot captivated my heart and that is all. This android with heart and consciences represents our vulnerable yet strong side, to me. He experienced all sorts of abuse and felt used, yet none of his sad experiences diminished his kind spirit.
In the story, I initially wanted to throw my sandals at Eric and then take the parsley bunch that I planned to chop for my salad and beat him for hurting my Sloot! Before long, he soon redeemed himself in my eyes and suddenly I found myself alongside Eric. I experienced his uncertainties, contentment and utter terror at the possibility of losing Sloot.
I swooned at how Sloot and Eric stood up for each other, but cried a bit when Sloot showed his ultimate human spirit. He sacrificed something most of us would not even think of doing for Eric…wow…wow…. The end, left me swooning, feeling gooey, whereby instead of falling asleep, after reading like I always do, I found myself wide awake for a few hours. I thought of Sloot and many scenes from the story. This is a beautiful and very emotional story. I look forward to reading Cat Blaine’s other stories now.
Eric Pread broke up with his boyfriend a year ago, and has been apathetic about getting back out on the market. His friend Sabrina thinks he needs a nudge, and so she sends him a XP30 Sexbot to help him get back in the game.
Sloot is the XP30 assigned to Eric. He’s no ordinary android. His creator tinkered with him and gave him the ability to love. That isn’t anything Eric wants in a sexbot, and he almost sends Sloot back when he finds out.
But as time passes, they grow closer and closer and it becomes obvious that Sloot and Eric are two halves of a whole.
