This is a whimsical take on the classic Wizard of Oz. Donny is an in the closet, jock, farm boy who quietly dreams of his best friend. Both boys are wickedly hot and your imagination can run amuck with the scenarios you’d like to see them.
The story line follows the original story with a few twists, the characters have been changed to an all male cast and all gay, OH MY! Wicked Warlock of the West has his dungeon boys, The Good Warlock glides in on a rainbow and instead of ruby red slippers we have combat boots.
I like this author he has a sense of humor and he has a great imagination. He really pulled off a satirical story of a beloved classic. This would be a really great story to put on the screen, hot men, combat boots all on the journey down the yellow brick road.
I recommend this for a quick comedic read. You aren’t going to find any fornicating munchkins or find Donny stripped down when in the evil warlock’s lair. There is romance and the author did a really good job of weaving it into the story. I guess you could say this is an PG13+ rated story, because you aren’t going to find any slurping of the pole or pounding of the hole. (I know cheesy) 🙂
Over the rainbow. Waaaay over…
Farm boy Donny Windham has two big problems: he’s in the closet; and he’s in love with his straight best friend!
His solution? Run away from home to someplace he’s not the only gay guy in a two hundred mile radius of his family’s Kansas farm. Before he can leave, a tornado transports Donny and his little dog Toto to the magical Land of Oz where they encounter Lions and Tylers and Gay Bears – oh my!
Donny makes new friends along the way including the scantily clad Good Warlock of the North, the sassy Scarecrow, the brokenhearted Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion. Of course, there’s the small matter of the Wicked Warlock of the West who’ll stop at nothing to see Donny dead!
On his fantastical journey down the Yellow Brick Road towards the Emerald City to meet the Wicked Hot Wizard of Oz, Donny discovers one important thing: There’s no place like home, especially if it’s with the man of his dreams.
Mark Pace writes stories about men falling in love (and into bed) with other men – just the way it should be! Mark lives with his partner and their two energetic dogs who wish he would spend less time writing gay romance stories and more time taking them outside to play. Despite all the work he did over the winter chopping down wood on his own property to ensure cozy romantic nights by the fire, Mark likes ice cream too much to ever attain perfect six-pack abs!
