Picking up where we left off in Colorado Wild, by Sara York; in Colorado Fire, Craig is on the loose, Roger and Grant are starting to feel the connection, Tucker and Billy are feeling the heat, and the farm and family are just as active as they were in the first book.
This time however, we revolve around a different pair of men, Marshall and Zander, as they go through the same process of learning about themselves as Tucker and Billy went through in the first book of this great saga. And Roger is sent to London through South Africa, to see if he can learn from the jailed colleagues of Craig, where he might be, leaving Grant at home to figure out his past, and what it means to his future.
As in the first book, there is plenty of good, steamy sex, and lots of twists and turns. There is a great amount of suspense in this part, as the hunt for Craig reaches its climax, and the farm must deal with the betrayal of one of its own.
I just love Sara York’s writing, and am very hopeful that there will be a third in the series, as she still has a couple of characters that she could expand on and help us understand and like better. James and Mike are still yet unknown characters, and what about Brody? Has this outsider found himself a place to be himself? These are thoughts that have entered my head as I finished Colorado Fire.
The second book moved a lot quicker, possibly because we knew the characters that make up the main line of the story, and answers to questions from book one were coming quickly. She makes the scenes visible in ones mind’s eye, and this puts you right into the scene. I was scared when it was appropriate, wanted to cry several times, and enjoyed the openness of the farm at other times. This was a great book! Read it as soon as you finish the first!
