Here is an Example of a book that is not getting the attention it deserves. At first I really wondered how I was going to accept this book, I’m not much of a paranormal or magic reader. This book sort of drew itself to me and pretty soon I’m reading it. Was it Magic or Fairy intervention, was I hexed?
In the beginning I had a little problem keeping all of the characters sorted out in my head. As the story unfolded the characters all fell in place, so that hurdle was overcome by the author. Here’s the thing, even though there are quite a few characters, they all played a part in the story. We have Gay, Straight, Confused and even Spirits, sounds interesting doesn’t it? I want to say right up front, I really enjoyed reading this story. Those of you that like it long, print length is 381 pages, that should keep you busy for a bit.
The story starts out with Dieter (the MC in this story) and his brother Paul cleaning out a farm that was handed down to them by their Uncle after his passing. Paul doesn’t really play much of a part in the story, but here is why I said that all of the characters are integral to this story. This book is very layered and what I mean by that is things happen over here that are impacting the story line over there. Everything played a purpose and I wasn’t reading fluff for continuance of the story.
This is very hard for me to write because I want to dissect the book and tell you what I thought of all of the different scenes and how well written they were, but that would give away lots and lots of spoilers. Did you notice I said lots and lots? That is because lots of things happen.
The Love story was told very well, I like a build up and we got that with Dieter and Yanko. The supernatural telling of the story was pretty suspenseful, I never really knew where the Author was leading us. The Magic and Mystical characters all blended so well in the story.
So the only thing I can say is definitely give this book a try, at the time of this post the book was priced @ $2.99 on Kindle. I find this a real bargain for the content.
Book Description Love and family, the two things Dieter wants most are slipping away. His uncle, the man who raised him as a father, is dead. Now his brother can’t wait to bulldoze and sell the family farm. Yet Dieter clutches at the memories of the past, fighting to hold them close. What Dieter doesn’t know is the past can be present and what is dead doesn’t always stay dead. He discovers that Dark Loves wants to live in the light.
“Dark Love” is a paranormal romance set in Stephen del Mar’s Bennett Bay region of Florida. There are witches, faeries, bears, twinks, a dragon drive by, and one very determined fag hag. Once again del Mar gives us the rich texture of his Florida setting that goes from the bayside tourist town of Bennett Bay to the backwater country hamlet of Live Oak. Remember, things are not always what they seem and be careful what you do under the light of the full moon!
