I admit, from the beginning, that I have a secret BDSM fantasy, so when they
asked me to read and review this book, I was intrigued! And let me tell you, I was
not disappointed! There is so much kinky sex in this book that you can’t help but
get a feel for the lifestyle. It was like reading a movie. But before I go there, a bit
about the story and characters.
The story revolves around two couples. One couple is Darreck and Gabriel.
Darreck is a lonely, bored carpenter who has been jilted by his fiancée, and starts
a new life on his own. His best friend Kyle gives him a phone number that changes
his life. He gets taken to places and heights he has never been before, and in the
process, learns about himself, and who he is. Gabriel is a very disturbed man with
a very long and distressing past that takes Darreck into himself and in the process,
learns about himself as well, and learns he can love again. As these two discover
themselves, they also discover each other and how they fit together.
The other couple in the book is Kyle and Ben. Kyle is Darreck’s best friend, and is
the one who starts the whole ball rolling regarding the plot of this book. Ben is
Kyle’s Dominant, or Dom, and is very into the Dominant/Submissive lifestyle. He
has worked with Kyle for a long time, and eventually finds the real Kyle, and the
two of them begin living the lifestyle together after some intense drama.
Through much psychological drama and hidden secrets, the four main characters
embark on a learning adventure that is gripping and emotional.
Now, about reading like a movie. I don’t think I have ever read a book that takes
you so far into the subject and the characters that you can actually see it in your
mind’s eye, and feel the emotions, whether it is hate, love, anger, defiance,
sadness, or empathy, and so much more. When the torture is painful and strong,
you feel every feeling the submissive is feeling. The pain and pleasure are so real
that you feel them with the character.
I loved this Deliver Us! Lynn Kelling kept me on the edge of my chair, and as
excited as I have gotten reading a book in a real long time. Her knowledge of the
subject, the character development, and her attention to absolute detail made
this book wonderful! I definitely recommend it to those who want to go to new
heights in reading!
