This is foremost a story of Love, with the secondary story line involving the character Colt as the young vampire. Robbie is 18 years old, a very hard worker, minds his Mother and oh yes he is still a virgin. Colt on the other hand is 167 years old, turned at the age of 17. Colt’s family consists of his Maker, Richard and his partner Brendan. We’ve all read the stories where the main characters were fated to be together and this is the same story line in Forever Young.
This story was middle of the road for me. I didn’t really bond with any of the characters or understand them, I prefer when an Author gives me great detail about the characters. Forever Young gave me a fairly predictable story line. We have the Vampires that live among us and then we have the Matarians, a society of humans that are committed to the total annihilation of the Vampire race. We met a couple of guys from the Matarians, Dylan and Issa and as a couple would also have a good story to tell.
The ending was rushed, with a great battle and characters dying that you least expected. The ending left me wanting more, as in please elaborate. If there is a follow up book, I will certainly get it. I believe in the writing of Jeff Erno and I hope the 2nd book would answer some of my questions.
