This story is about two baseball mates, polar bear shifter Graham and grizzly bear shifter Trigger. I have never read a story about a polar bear shifter so I had to yell excitedly to ensure that I was one of the first to get this story to read. I am so glad Scott gave me the story because I enjoyed every single page of “Loaded For Bear”. First of all, I am an Australian Turk so I know nothing about baseball but this author gave me a good insight toward the sport. It is so clear Cheyenne loves watching baseball and, I assume, plays it too. I felt like I was also playing the game and got very excited at the prospect. The pages where Graham and Trigger play the game is mesmerizing and certainly engaging. It is loaded with showing and emotions. The growing friendship felt so real and endearing and the sizzling parts were simply beautiful and sensuous. This story is written with love and dedication and I saw and felt it all the way though. This is a definite re-read for me.
Polar bear shifter Graham Tundra can’t believe his bad luck. Not only is he traded to another baseball team midseason, but he’s also teamed up with Trigger Mallow: widely considered the best player in the game—but with the worst attitude.
Trigger is on the fence about Graham. As a grizzly bear shifter, he’s relieved to have another ursine on the team, even if they are different species. The problem is Trigger is in the middle of his natural mating season, and Graham looks too damn good to pass up.
What begins as friends with benefits shows potential to grow into a deeper connection. If only they can put aside their differences, learn to trust, listen to their feelings, and realize it’s more than just a bear thing.
