What made me want to get this book? 3 reasons: #1 is the cover, it makes you want to run your tongue from his open jeans to the cleft of his chin. #2 it was a Free read. #3 I’ve wanted to read something from Zach and this felt right. Zach Sweets is a hearing impaired author and the character in Luscious Love is also hearing impaired I wanted to see how the writer would handle a hearing impaired character. I wanted to see how this would translate from the writing to the reader.
Wendell is deaf and like many people has been looking for a job. One of Wendell’s pleasures is chocolate so he was very excited when he found an advertisement for a job at Luscious Love. Caleb is the chocolatier and owner of Luscious Love, Wendell and Caleb get along straight away, you see the bear of a man that is Caleb, is also a pleasure spark for Wendell.
The plot was good although a little too sweet for me (pardon the pun). The author did a good job of storytelling, the characters were well written, it’s just when the whole story was put together it just didn’t grab me and I think that I found the story a little unbelievable. The author wrote a cute little romance, which is what I think he was going for and nothing more. In 27 pages he did an admirable job. The release of this book was almost 3 years ago, so now I want to get something more current to see how the Author has progressed.
Wendell Choate is a struggling Deaf man who wants nothing more than a comfortable life. When Caleb Adams hires him to work in his chocolate shop, the big bear of a man appeals to his sweet tooth. Does Caleb’s interest end at closing time, or is there a chance he wants more?
