This was a really cute Holiday Fairy Tale. What makes this special, is the author took her own liberties on how the Holiday spirit was going to be portrayed in this story. It is fresh, new and original, I appreciated the World that Kenzie built to bring us this story.
Dash is a descendant of one of the first families of Elf, the von Strides. Their elven magic is what gave the reindeer their magical qualities such as the ability to fly. This is part of why I enjoyed this book so much, it gave reason to so many of the myths that surround the Season.
Reindeer Games takes on a 2 part meaning in this story, it is the name of Dash’s toy shop and it is to be taken figuratively as the magic of the reindeer enable them to play a little hi-jinx with the eldest Kringle sibling, Nik.
I’m going to recommend this story for a couple of reasons; the fairy tale mystery is original, well thought out and executed. The romance was sweet as the author put a twist in the “destined mates” aspect of the story as we find out that Dash and Nik are mates. I wondered if the story was going to be a sexy fairy tale or leave it up to the imagination, Kenzie did give it just enough sexiness to quell that desire for those of us that like that in our MM reading.
A Holiday reading recommendation!
Dashing von Stride has one thing on his mind: winning the window display contest for the Miracle on Main Christmas Contest. His plans are set and ready—and then he walks into his toy store, Reindeer Games, to find a sleigh that shouldn’t be there. The mystery sleigh sparks a new plan, however, and now all Dash needs is the perfect Santa to model his display after.
This year, the pranks with his reindeer have gotten out of hand. Instead of preparing for the Big Day, Niklaus Kringle is hunting for his missing sleigh. Locating it should have been easy, but games easily won are seldom worth playing…
Writing to keep the fictional voices at bay, Kenzie enjoys the journeys her characters travel to find their happy endings, and she loves the challenge of writing a great love story.
