Have you ever been mad when finishing a book? That’s the way I felt with this one, what I thought I was getting was an Erotica between stepbrothers and 1 other, that is not what was delivered. This book starts out extremely exciting, Brady is on display, fully excited and undulating on the sheets. The author did a remarkable job of grabbing your attention in just the first few pages. This all takes place in The Parlor, a place where money buys fantasy. After Brady is purchased he is asked “Who would you rather be here with?” and Brady states, his stepbrother Dane.
That was where the erotica ended and it became more of a trip down memory lane. This trip highlighted the events that brought them close together, from the death of their parents and the near death of Brady. Even though this part of the story was sweet and it gave you a better understanding of the characters, it actually took away from what the book was supposed to be. Read the Book Description and you’ll see where I am coming from. I really hate saying this but I was really bored, even when Dane arrives at the Parlor and the boys are trussed up in chains there wasn’t anything stimulating or erotic about it, the scene felt contrived, lacking.
Now to the sex. The ending where Dane and Brady are able to be together starts out really well and for most people the scene was really well done. For me it missed a couple of things, first off this is the first time for either of them. A first time scene can be so erotica and stimulating and it doesn’t take a whole lot to make it that way but I get bothered when the actions are not realistic. A first time bottom is not lubricated enough by fingers getting salivated on only once and used to loosen the bottom. Secondly, no pain? Seriously? And Dane stays hard throughout it. For this I call Bullshit on. For some this will be overlooked and that is fine, for me I just like it a little more real, even though we are talking fantasy.
I know it sounds like I trashed the book and that is because it didn’t live up to what was advertised. The book really needs to be categorized as a Romance which it truly is. So as a Romance this book would have fared much better but as a Taboo Erotic it failed.
Dane Brooks has a secret. Ever since he was a teenager, he has been in love with his stepbrother Brady, but since the night of their parents’ tragic death, Dane has been racked with so much guilt and shame that his true feelings must remain hidden.
That is, until the night Brady calls him from an undisclosed address, asking for Dane to join him.
Rushing to his stepbrother’s side, Dane finds himself inside a mysterious mansion, a place of debauchery and lust, where desires are set free and every fantasy is fulfilled. In this parlor of pleasure and pain, can the two stepbrothers finally unlock the chains of their love?
The Temptress of Taboo Romance, Liberty Lace invites you into a world of explicit man-on-man erotica, where forbidden fruit hangs from every tree… where secrets run through every bloodline… and where desires so delicious can be tasted with every bite you take.
