After secretly crushing on each other during their senior year in high school, Headon and Evan finally admit their feelings for each other. But they are caught and separated, not seeing each other again until their 10 year high school reunion.
This was a sweet little novella. Love stories that begin in the teenage years are one of my favorite types to read. They innocence of the age added to first love is just beautiful. When a couple is separated and brought back together it just makes my heart happy. This was definitely one of those stories.
After they were caught, Headon and Evan went on different paths in life, taking them further apart from each other. But being apart didn’t stop them from thinking about each other almost constantly. Their chance to see each other is at their 10 year high school reunion. Although they will both have to go back to a town that hurt them so much. Headon has to be convinced to go by his best friend. Evan decides to go after his most recent lover leaves him- like all the others have.
Yes, this is a love story, but it also has some humor in it- completely nailing some of the stereotypical people you see at your reunion- and some pretty hot sex scenes. Having those added characters and little aside stories made this much more well rounded story instead of just a novella with only 2 characters. Little things like that hold my interest much more.
That being said, this could easily have been a much longer book. Even a full novel. I wanted more of their current story as well as their back stories. But, for a quick, hot but ultimately sweet read, I absolutely recommend this book.
There was no way in hell Headon Morris was going to his high school reunion. Memories of why he had to leave home still haunted him, along with the image of one the guy his heart refused to let go of—Evan Marshall.
A lot had changed in ten years, except Headon’s feelings. Much was left unsaid, and for that matter, unfinished. Going back home for the reunion could help him put the past behind him once and for all. Would Evan even show? Could they pick up where they left off?
Headon had the blues, the reunion blues, and his decision to attend could change his life…forever.
