Butterflies Are Free is the second book in the Tied By Fate series by new author on the block, M LeAnne Phoenix. World’s End introduced us, quickly, to Emrys Marlowe and I am glad that Ms Phoenix decided to continue his story in this installment.
Emrys is an actor and after a long time on set meets up with one of his best friends, Lindsay Trevelyan. He will be staying with her and her brother, Ísarr, in the apartment above Ísarr’s bookshop. There is an age-old connection between the two young men, which is apparent as soon as they meet each other for the first time. Lindsay is madly in love with Emrys and when she finds him and her brother, mere minutes after they have met, kissing… well, it is not pretty.
Ísarr and Lindsay’s parents have died so they are all they have in the world. Is a man really worth the pain and hassle that it will bring? Ísarr finds that he cannot continue with Emrys, unless his sister is okay with their relationship. She, begrudgingly, tells her brother to go for it.
Ms Phoenix has done a brilliant job at bringing her characters to life. The pain Lindsay feels is practically dripping of the pages, but so is the love between Ísarr and Emrys. And the desperation. As are the need and urgency; don’t even get me started on the very sexy and hot scenes that are throughout this story.
When Lindsay and Ísarr have a major fight things really turn ugly and there are certain things you just do not wish for… but, there is always World’s End…
Something tells me that there is more to this story… (in fact, I know that there is more to this story, so watch this space for the review of Light Up The Skies).
