This is a fun ass book. There is a Sexy Alpha shifter and a Sexy Alpha Rocker and when these 2 got together, I got the sexy, the comedy and a great story. Bardulf is heir to his pack and he was swindled by his little sister to head off to New York and kiss a member of the rock group “Bad Oak”. You see Bardulf’s sister entered a contest and the prize was the backstage kiss, only she was too young, so she put her brother’s name on the form instead, him being gay and all.
Imagine Bardulf’s surprise when he finds out the kiss is to be with the lead singer, Ryan Oakley and he smells and makes him feel as if he is his mate. The heat between them as their lips press against each other is WOW. These are 2 Alpha males which for me took the heat register over the top. Here is yet another example, although it ended up on the good side, never trust the “Don’t worry we don’t need a condom” statement. Babies can happen because of this, which comes up later in the story in a bit of a comedic way.
I really loved this book, not just enjoyed but loved. I like the way the author put the whole package together from Bardulf’s sister and Ryan’s band mates the whole story felt really good and it had a bit of realistic tone. There wasn’t a lot of story taken up on the werewolf side it centered more on Ryan and the band. The pregnancy moved by really quickly, for me it didn’t make a bit of difference whether I saw all of that or not. The story was more about the relationship between Bardulf and Ryan or should I say the attempted relationship. These guys agonized over each other when they were separated for such long period of times. Bardulf was dealing with pack business and Ryan was on the road and while apart, here is where Erin did a spectacular job of bringing the reality to the pages, each of the characters had responsibilities and she had them living up to them. Erin told us a story of what Bardulf was dealing with and also what Ryan was dealing with, just really well done.
The name of the series is Bad Oak Boys so I don’t know if this is going to be based around the band or the shifter pack, I really cannot wait to find out. My recommendation? Get this book if you like Alpha Males, Shifters and Rockers.
Ryan Oakley, lead singer of Bad Oak and heartthrob extraordinaire, isn’t looking for a girlfriend. He’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, but after the explosive encounter he has with a guy he meets backstage, he realizes he’s more flexisexual than he’d thought. Of course, suddenly being able to shift into a wolf is an unexpected side effect he didn’t expect and can barely control.
Bardulf Forst is Alpha-Heir to his pack, but he can’t resist his little sister when she begs him to meet Ryan Oakley. When he realizes the sexy singer is his mate, he can’t deny instinct. He claims the famous rock star even though he knows his father won’t approve: heirs are supposed to have children and two males can’t reproduce.
Little do they know that they’re about to experience an ancient shifter biological imperative: when two male Alphas mate, unexpected miracles sometimes happen.
