With Sid hanging in chains and getting the crap beat out of him, the whispers of double-cross and WTHs echo in that cavernous space. From the boardroom to the gritty, ugly landscape of abandoned buildings, the action and thrills ramp up considerably.
Before, it was reputations on the line, but Sid’s predicament takes the danger and potential consequences to a whole other level. This episode is gut-wrenching, breath-sucking, butterfly inducing as Sid and Jack’s fates coalesce in ways that will surprise both men.
I have quibbles: the pace has turned frenetic. Events unfold and collapse and reform at a staggering rate. There’s a point in the timeline that allows for blank space. There’s also a wee disconnect between the severity of injury inflicted and recovery time (yeah, yeah, I look stuff up on AskMD). And there’s the matter of the sudden appearance of an earlier character in the last chapter that had me firing synapses trying to remember who that guy is/was.
Aside from some easily fixable misalignment’s, this is one corker of a thrill ride. If I could teleport myself to the future when episode 6 is launched, I would. Meantime, I’m tapping toes, waiting.
