This is a 3 Part Series that I read quite awhile back. This book was my favorite of the 3 so I thought I would share my thoughts on it with you.
We were introduced to Lil in Book 1, Horizons and he sort of get his own show in this book. Lil is in Chicago visiting his pals Clark and Jody who are a couple. The story opens with Lil visiting the “Taste of Chicago”, which if you have never been I HIGHLY recommend it. It is held downtown Chicago right at Navy Pier on the shore of Lake Michigan. So much fun and so much to do. (this was not a pd endorsement, I’m just saying 🙂 ) Back to the story. Grier is also at the Taste but working one of the booths for his families restaurant. Lil has to have some ice cream from the hunk in the booth. So when Grier asks Lil “Your Order?” Lil responds “You, anyway I can have it. Well that is how our MC’s got together.
This is a very fun story with complex characters. Grier is not as he appears he looks sexy as heck and tough, with his tattoo sleeve and his bad boy clothes right down to his motorcycle. The secrets he hides are hidden. This is also a Romance curve, they both realize that they feel something strong for each other and as much as they would love to jump on each other they do the Romance thing. The way Mickie wrote this you could feel the passion that Lil and Grier radiated.
I think this book has been on the market long enough that it shouldn’t make a difference because I really want to talk about it. Grier has a penchant for ladies, lacy undergarments and he also has a son with the “daughter of evil and bitchy” oh wait that describes her. Grier will do anything to keep Luca in his life and that means that his kink and sexual preferences have to be kept hidden. Here is where very creative writing came to place. To paraphrase; Love and Family persevere. Lacy panties are not exactly appealing to me, but this was written so tastefully that the Author actually turned it a bit erotic. The sexual scenes are most definitely on the HOT end. I like Romantic HOT Sex and we are treated to that in this book.
Did I mention that Lil lives in San Francisco and Grier lives in Chicago. How can they take the Romance and Love that they have created and make it last when they each have a life thousands of miles apart. This book does have an HEA but you’ll have to read it to find out how these guys handle it.
Like I said earlier this was my favorite in the series, mainly due to the complexity of the characters, the location descriptions, the hurdles that Lil and Grier overcame and how well written this kink was. This book is able to stand on its own, but I really do recommend the other 2 books also. Horizons and Daddio.
Book Description What should have been a brief interlude turns into something deeper when Lil Lampert meets Grier Dilorio at the Taste of Chicago. Lil is in town visiting good friends Jody Williams and Clark Stevens, and he didn’t plan to hook up with a younger man and discover a mutual love for architecture, interior design, and a unique sexual kink that keeps Lil coming back for more.
By all appearances, Grier is the quintessential bad boy who loves speed, tattoos, and leather, but Lil slowly uncovers another side: selfless, responsible, and tender, especially for Luca, the son he’s had to deny. With Lil’s love and support, Grier will make a decision key to opening the door to a possible future together, one that includes fatherhood, something Lil has dreamed of but has never dared to explore.
