The Drowning is written by a fairly new author to the MM Genre. It does show. Though her characters are well-written and come alive, the way she writes dialogue seems formal. Also, her sex scenes lack the heat that you find in this genre. I think with a little more confidence, this author has the ability to be an exceptional MM author.
Her storyline was fantastic and even the side characters came to life.
The beginning of the story made me so sad, and honestly made me so angry at our whole medical system here in the states. These things should never happen to humans but even I have been in the grasp of it and unable to get many things done that need to be taken care of.
If you can get past the formal dialogue, you will enjoy this sweet story where two men on the opposite sides of the food chain fall in love and maneuver in today’s society of being able to marry and become a family. Another cotton candy sweet read for me.
Seriously ill, in pain with no money for medication or food, Dennis sets out to North Beach to drown but ends up being saved more ways than he can imagine.
Walking along the beach one evening, Luca Ferone encounters a body floating in the water. Being told to kiss off after rescuing the man isn’t what he expected.
Dennis O’Shea was ready to end it all. Being saved wasn’t in his plans. One look in Dennis’ eyes is all Luca needs to be lost. He won’t let anything get in the way until Dennis is his. Dennis doesn’t go easily but realizes that Luca is a man used to getting his own way. Can the two find their way together?
