I started reading this book, and after about a quarter of the book, I had gotten pretty discouraged and was wondering why I was even reading this book. There is very little sex, except implied, and the story didn’t seem relevant to the books that we read and review here on GGR-Review. But, being the professional I am, I decided that since it was given to me to review, I would finish the book. Boy, am I glad I didn’t quit. It isn’t your normal m/m romance that we read and review, but it is well worth the read for those who like suspense and the werewolf genre. And a very good suspense novel it is.
Ilene is a mother with a very dark past, and a very interesting family. She has twin boys Adam and Alec, beautiful, outgoing, smart, and seductive. There is a married daughter Lucy, and her husband Rene. Jason is their father, but he is clueless and not privy to the secret that will totally turn his family upside down. Death, deceit, and unbelievable circumstances invade his peaceful world and he has no choice but to be swept up in the suspense that becomes his family’s life.
Also involved in the story are their grandmother Geraldine, the new love interest for Alec, Jared, best friends Sam and Celeste, several police detectives who help the family try to figure out what is happening around them, and an extremely mysterious Doctor Michaelson, who seems more interested in the family that might be expected.
Finding themselves the target of a dark werewolf known in human form as Darius, they are led on a life-threatening adventure that will test the bonds of the family and friends that are the circle of people in the lives of this family.
The suspense builds through the story, as Adrian Lilly weaves a plot that is thrilling and tense, a cast of well-developed characters that pull emotion and feelings from the reader, and an ending that will leave you wanting to read more of his wonderful storytelling.
If you are into werewolves and suspense, read this book. It is so exciting and well written. It is well worth the read!
