This book took me completely by surprise and I mean that in a very Positive way. The Author sent it to me a few months ago and asked about a review. I read the synopsis but I didn’t get that feeling that this is a book that I have to read. I let it sit and finally made a decision that I have to read it. Now is the time that I should receive a quick kick to the arse for not reading this earlier.
The main characters in the book were so loveable. Matty the figure skater working to achieve his dream of hitting Gold at the Olympics and Rob the Cowboy/Ranch owner that shows Matty what Love means. In the beginning I wasn’t very taken with Matty, he is effeminate, wears make up and is a bit on the campy side. Then we have Rob who is the Masculine, take charge, testosterone filled Alpha Male. As I continued reading I found myself really appreciating Matty’s character as his campy ways just went to solidify the strength that he carries as a person. I actually felt myself leaning on Matty as the stronger character, with his workout regiment and his do all to achieve his goals, I admired him. The sex in this book is Hot, as Matty submits to Rob as they fulfill both of their fantasies in the bedroom.
What made this book so good for me was the characters. I think the effeminate Matty against the Alpha Rob was brilliantly written. Showing how Matty’s family went without or worked doubly hard just so Matty was able to afford the expenses of training was so real. Rob’s ex-wife and son were able to bring Rob another dimension to his character it worked on rounding him out as a person.
I know I’m not telling you any part of the story, or how they meet, or if there is heartache. After reading it I can only recommend to you; follow what I did (only don’t wait as long as I did to read it) just open it up and start reading, it is truly a story you won’t want to put down.
