This is the 3rd book in the Fantasies: Thr33 series. In this series each book is a stand alone as neither the story lines or characters cross over. I’ve read the previous books and this is by far the best. The reason it may be better is that this is the first novel in the series, the author had time to build a captivating story line with excellent character personas. The extra pages also gave the author more room to develop the angst factor and it was well played within the pages of this book.
This is a story of listening to your heart, especially when it starts telling you things that you never expected to happen. This statement holds true for all 3 of our characters. For Hayden and Garnett they were just looking for the release and the ecstasy of one night together. For Drew who has always had feelings for Hayden took it extremely hard when he saw his infatuation with another. There is great chemistry with all of the characters even when the chemistry was combative, it was with emotion. I enjoyed how the relationship came together. I believe Avril wrote an extremely believable tale on the beginning of an unexpected Menage tale, unexpected in the sense that the characters were not actively searching it out.
That Back stories did not seem unnecessary, the stories actually created the atmosphere for the characters to come together. One of my favorite back stories was the relationship or more precisely the non relationship status that Drew had with his parents. This relationship added to the angst of the book and was a major topic in the story, it was extremely well written as was the whole book.
The need to lose himself in an anonymous hookup sends Hayden Yune into the arms of Garnett McKaye. Hayden finds comfort and passion, but not the ability to stop wanting his personal driver. Despite attempting to build on the bliss he finds with Garnett, Hayden can’t fight what he feels for Drew.
Drew Sparkes has to watch Hayden with someone else, but that doesn’t mean he’s given up trying to get Hayden underneath him. Soon Drew’s in competition with Garnett for Hayden’s affection. A battle that’s called off when Hayden proclaims he wants them both.
Of course Garnett isn’t interested in anyone but Hayden. Which doesn’t explain why he gets a hard-on pushing Drew’s buttons. Or how Drew’s tongue keeps ending up shoved down Garnett’s throat. While working out how the three of them fit together, they still have to deal with pasts intent on holding them back…at least until the sunset.
